František Kulhánek was one of the most talented students at the school (studio) for applied metalworking arts headed by Professor Emanuel Novák at the School for Applied Arts in Prague. Kulhánek’s works of metal repoussé and chasing were artistically among the most valuable works at the school exhibition held at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague in 1902. The platter is part of a collection of school works purchased for the Pilsen museum’s collections at this exhibition.
